Programs & Services
Co-Occuring Disorder Treatment
At American Addiction Centers, we treat the whole person. All AAC facilities provide the highest-quality care for co-occurring disorders, such as addiction and depression.
Safe Medical Detox
You’re in good hands with us during detox. You’ll be safe and comfortable, attended to 24/7 by our doctors and nurses. We utilize the revolutionary EarlySense technology to monitor your vital signs while you sleep.
Addiction Focused Healthcare
We provide sub-acute programing for substance abuse disorder. This offers 24/7 medical supervision in a live-in environment at our facilities for patients in need of a higher level of medical care and mental health services that is fully focused on recovery in a sober environment.
Inpatient Residential
All of our facilities welcome patients in residential rehabilitation where we provide live-in treatment that is fully focused on recovery in a sober environment.
PHP / Day Treatment
Each of our treatment centers offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP), sometimes called “day treatment,” to patients who need a good deal of support but still wish to live at home.
IOP / Intensive Outpatient
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) involves going to treatment several hours per day but returning home when you’re done. Many people will step down from residential or day treatment into an IOP.
Telehealth Addiction Treatment
We provide outpatient services via telehealth so you can receive the support you need from your home. All telehealth services are offered via confidential, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing.
Outpatient Therapy
Standard outpatient therapy provides a limited number of therapy hours per week. Outpatient therapy can keep you grounded in your goals and connected to sober supports as you progress in your recovery.
Coronavirus Testing
An FDA - EUA approved PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test that will help determine if you have a current, active COVID-19 infection.

Treatment Approach

Evidence-Based Treatment

Recovery First offers a full continuum of care from medical detox to inpatient care, outpatient programs and aftercare planning. Our facility is also a strong proponent of pharmacogenetics used to inform what medications will be most effective for each person based on their genetic makeup. To form customized treatment plans, we utilize AAC’s Addiction Labs of America to get genetic tests within 24-hours.

Treatment Modalities and Specialized Groups

To offer patients a comprehensive approach to addiction treatment, we offer a number of different therapies in both individual and group counseling settings. Some of our therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), MAT, and eye-movement desensitization and processing (EMDR).

We also provide specialized tracks for health care professionals, gender-specific groups, veterans, and first responders in order to allow patients to benefit from specific types of programs.

Accommodations

Accommodations at River Oaks are split amongst 9 buildings. Patients occupy a 2-story, apartment-like complex with shared bedrooms and residences include a kitchen, TV, smoking area, and 2 BBQ pits in the courtyard area. Other amenities include a recreation room, gym, weekly yoga classes, park outings and church services on Sundays.

Meet the Staff

Dr. Seely received his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Jefferson University and completed his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. With nearly 40 years of experience, Dr. Seely brings his knowledge as a practicing psychiatrist to his position as medical director.

Yaritza Semenuk
Clinical Director

Yaritza Semenuk, LMHC, MS, is the clinical director at Recovery First and oversees case managers and other therapists to ensure patients receive quality care. Semenuk has had years of experience working with mental illness, trauma, autism and substance use among diverse populations. She also created the facility’s Salute to Recovery program specifically for veterans and first responders struggling with addiction.

For Families

Programs

Our family program is held twice a month on Fridays and Saturdays, and allows family members to learn more about addiction and gain a better understanding of the disease. In the afternoon, therapists will participate in individual family work.

Visiting Your Loved One

Although visits are not permitted while a patient is in detox, family visits during the residential and inpatient phases of treatment are allowed. On select Fridays and Saturdays, families can participate in our family programming sessions; additionally, visits outside of family programming days can be organized by your loved one’s treatment team (if the patient consents).
