Treatment Approach
Sunrise House offers medical detox, residential treatment and care for co-occurring disorders. Our facility provides evidence-based addiction treatments proven to improve patient outcomes as they work toward recovery.
To determine the best level of care needed, patients will undergo medical and psychosocial assessments upon arrival which evaluates psychosocial history, addiction severity, general physical health, and any ongoing medical conditions.
At Sunrise House, evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as other therapeutic approaches—such as mindfulness, music therapy, and 12-step groups—are included as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
We also offer specialized groups and tracks for LGBTQ+, gender-specific programming, trauma-focused therapies, and young adult groups. These tracks offer specific curriculum groups and lectures focused on the unique struggles that these individuals may face when it comes to addiction.
Those undergoing detox reside in single rooms on the 2nd floor while residential patients stay on separate floors by gender. Men are housed in single rooms on the 3rd floor and women stay on the opposite side of the 2nd floor in shared rooms with Jack-and-Jill style bathrooms.
Patients have access to laundry services, chef-prepared meals, table tennis, an onsite fitness center, basketball court, shuffleboard, and TVs in lounge rooms. On Saturdays, we host movie nights for all residents.

Marissa Ott, MBA, BSN, RN, CARN, is the director of nursing at Sunrise House Treatment Center and brings more than 15 years of experience to her role. She oversees the facility’s nursing staff and coordinates the medical and clinical teams providing patient care.
For Families
We understand that addiction affects everyone, not just the individual with the illness and that having a strong support system is an integral part of recovery. To assist with the healing of those affected by their loved one’s addiction, we provide a family lunch program on Tuesdays and Saturdays. During this time, family members can listen to a lecture and have a chance to meet other families affected by addiction.
Research shows that successful, sustained recovery from addiction is more likely when family members and loved ones are involved in treatment.
On Saturdays at 12:45 p.m. after the family lecture from 1-2 p.m., loved ones can visit patients from 2-3:15 p.m. (with the patient’s consent). For those who’ve traveled a far distance to visit, we allow for extra time for these individuals.
Additionally, twice a month we set-up a family educational day with a morning education session and lunch with the patient. Accommodations can be made for small children while parents are attending the morning session. We can also work with you to plan a visit outside of our family sessions.
